Glynette Wolk, Alto

Glynette has had a love of music since she was a child.  She started classical piano lessons at 8 years old and continued for over 10 years.  As a junior in high school, she successfully auditioned for the concert choir, which comprised about 90 juniors and seniors.  It was at this point she started singing as an alto and found her niche.  She used to teach her younger sister, Cynthia, the soprano line so she could hear the melody when she practiced at home.

Thirty-five years after high school, Glynette decided to return to choral singing and joined the Madonna University chorale where she was honored to be the alto soloist in two quartets.  She was also a chorister with the Vocal Arts Ensemble.  After coming to Cantaté's concerts for years, where Cynthia also sings, she auditioned for the group and joined in 2008.  Performing "Sisters" as a duet with Cynthia at the 2008 spring concert was like a dream come true.

Glynette's other interests include showing classic cars with her husband, Barry; playing piano; and gardening.  A former adjunct professor, Glynette is currently an adult literacy volunteer and part-time tutor.
